Gary Lineker waxed lyrical about Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker while watching the Reds’ 1-0 victory over Napoli on Tuesday.
The Reds achieved the narrow victory over the Italian giants and during the game the Match of the Day host heaped praise on the shot-stopper for the ‘massive’ save he made near the end of the fixture.
Lineker delivered his verdict on the goalkeeper’s latest display via his personal Twitter account and believed it was heroic stuff that he had just witnessed by Alisson.
What a massive and wonderful save from Alisson. Heroic stuff.

OPINION
Alisson ensured the Reds progressed to the next stage of the Champions League as if hadn’t made the save Lineker is referring to then Jurgen Klopp’s side would have gone crashing out. With minutes left on the clock Arkadiusz Milik literally was through on goal and if he scored Napoli would have gone through to the next round instead of the Reds. However despite just having Alisson to beat, he couldn’t get the job done and in fairness it wasn’t really his fault. The Brazilian produced a save that few goalkeepers would be able to make and while some may argue that luck was on his side, at the end day he got himself in a position to stop the ball crossing the line. Alisson made himself as big as possible and that was enough to put Malik off. Once again the goalkeeper has proven Klopp right to bring him to the club in the summer, despite his huge price tag, as he is proving to be vital to the cause.
